Welcome to Govt. College Rampur The college is named after the country’s prominent freedom fighter, great administrator and the recipient of the Bharat Ratna-- Sh. Govind Ballabh Pant, and is duly affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University (Shimla). This college came into existence in July, 1959 but was formally inaugurated on 11th November, 1959 by Raja Bajrang Bahadur Singh of Bhadri estate, the then lieutenant Governor of Himachal Pradesh. Situated on the left bank of the river Satluj, the college is on the national highway no. 5 and at a distance of about 130 km from the historical town of Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh. The college is a co-educational institution and imparts meaningful education in the faculties of Humanities, Science, Commerce, Vocation, and Computer Applications. After its inception in 1959 for undergraduate programmes, the year 1994 marked its new phase of academic development with the opening of Postgraduate classes in the subject of Hindi, English, Commerce, History, Economics, and Political Science.
